Job Summary
The Personal Care Aide (PCA) provides non-medical, in-home support to clients who need assistance with daily living activites. In this role, you will assist residents with daily activities, promote independence, and ensure their safety and well-being. Your energetic approach and attention to detail will help create a positive environment where clients feel valued, respected, and cared for. This position offers an opportunity to make a meaningful difference in the lives of those needing personalized support.
Responsibilities
• Assist residents with Activities of Daily Living (ADLs) such as bathing, dressing, grooming, toileting, and mobility
• Monitor vital signs including blood pressure, pulse, temperature, and respiration rates to ensure health stability
• Support medication administration following proper protocols and documentation procedures using Electronic Medical Record (EMR) systems
• Help with meal preparation, feeding assistance, and maintaining a clean and safe environment through light cleaning duties
• Document care activities accurately and communicate effectively with healthcare team members regarding resident status or changes in condition
• Engage residents in social activities to promote mental stimulation and emotional well-being while respecting individual preferences
• Support residents' emotional needs through compassionate communication and respectful interaction
• Maintain compliance with health and safety standards by following infection control procedures and safety protocols
Experience
• Must be 18 years of age
• High school diploma or GED preferred
• Prior caregiving experience preferred
• Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation (preferred)
• Ability to pass background check and drug screening
• CPR/First Aid certification
• Experience working with individuals with developmental disabilities or behavioral health needs is advantageous
