Compensation

• Estimated Weekly Salary Range: $1700–$1750

Med/Surg RN Job Details – Wilmington, NC

• Location: Wilmington, NC (zip 28401) – North Carolina nursing jobs
• Unit: Neuro Medicine (General medicine with neuro focus)
• Employment Type: Travel Nurse
• Shift: Night, 12-hour shifts (18:45 - 07:15)
• Hours per Week: 36 or 48 (OT billed after 48 hours)
• Contract Duration: 13–26 weeks
• Patient Ratios: 1:6
• Weekend Requirement: 5–6 weekend shifts per contract (every other weekend)
• Float Requirement: Yes, travelers float first
• Orientation: 24 hours
• Scrubs: Navy Blue

Med/Surg RN Qualifications

• Minimum 2 years of recent Med/Surg RN experience in a hospital or clinical setting
• Active North Carolina or Compact RN license (required at start)
• ACLS and BLS certifications (American Heart Association preferred)
• Must pass EKG testing prior to start
• Strong teamwork and commitment to patient safety
• Experience with Epic charting system preferred
• NIHSS certification and neuro nursing experience preferred
• Willingness to float to other units as needed
• Ability to work during catastrophic events or disasters as part of Storm/Hurricane Team

Med/Surg RN Responsibilities

• Provide high-quality nursing care to adult and geriatric patients with general medicine and neuro diagnoses
• Manage a patient load of up to 6 per shift
• Utilize Pyxis, Epic, and SBAR systems for medication administration, documentation, and communication
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary healthcare teams including IV therapy, physical therapy, respiratory therapy, pharmacy, and social services
• Float to other units based on hospital needs and census
• Participate in unit orientation and ongoing clinical training modules
• Maintain compliance with all hospital policies and procedures
• Support patient safety initiatives and contribute to a positive healthcare team environment
