Director of Nursing for Hospice Inpatient Units

SECU Hospice Home – Yadkinville, NC

Schedule:
2 days per week: 10:00 am - 10:00 pm
2 days per week 8:00 am - 5:00 pm
No weekends

An Excellent Opportunity

Mountain Valley has an opening for an experienced Director of Nursing for our two hospice inpatient units. We are looking for an experienced Director of Nursing who has experience as a hard-working and compassionate registered nurse and has steadily developed their managerial and administrative skills in prior leadership roles. This position will be based out of the Woltz Hospice Home in Dobson, NC.

Duties:

• Lead daily operations for the nursing department (RN, LPN, CNA)
• Direct, oversee and evaluate all nursing personnel (RN, LPN, CNA)
• Organize and coordinate admission, nursing and patient care procedures
• Collaborates with doctors and practitioners
• Develop and implement procedures aiming for compliance and high-quality standards
• Resolve issues and deficiencies
• Investigate patient / family complaints
• Manage record-keeping procedures
• Provide direct patient care when necessary
• Ensure that all guidelines, regulations, and standards are followed

Qualifications and Skills:

• Collaborate with other departments and professionals to streamline operations
• Communicate effectively and has strong written and verbal communication skills
• Excel at relationship building and have strong leadership skills
• Learn quickly and have strong problem solving and critical thinking skills
• Develop strong relationships with patients and their families
• Work calmly in high-pressure situations

Education and Experience Requirements:

• A Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) is strongly preferred
• At least 5 years of management experience is required
• Must have an active registered nurse (RN) license
• Proven experience as director of nursing
