Counter Sales
- Greet and assist walk-in and telephone customers in a friendly, professional manner.
- Manage multiple customers and requests simultaneously in a fast-paced environment.
- Help customers select the right products by asking thoughtful questions, listening actively, and offering solution-based recommendations.
- Provide basic troubleshooting and technical product support as needed.
- Research, source, and recommend alternate products to meet customer needs, timelines, and budgets.
- Enter orders accurately in Eclipse ERP and process returns and warranty requests according to company guidelines.
- Communicate proactively with customers regarding order status, delays, substitutions, or availability changes.
- Resolve customer complaints and disputes professionally and in a timely manner, balancing customer satisfaction with company policies.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and customer-ready counter and work area.
- Build rapport with repeat customers and contribute to long-term customer relationships.
- Build and maintain strong customer partnerships through dependable follow-through, product knowledge, and consistent service.
- Take a proactive approach to sales by identifying needs and recommending upgrades, add-ons, and complementary products.
- Strengthen repeat business by providing an exceptional customer experience and ensuring customers feel valued and supported.
- Engage customers in solution-focused conversations to fully understand project scope and recommend appropriate products.
- Recommend promotional items, clearance products, or surplus inventory to support sales and inventory movement.
- Communicate customer needs, job opportunities, and sales leads to outside sales staff and management.
- Notify purchasing or management of unexpected changes in product demand, trends, or inventory needs.
- Follow all company pricing, credit, and sales policies.
- Stay up to date on new products through training, team learning, and manufacturer resources.
- Assist with receiving, shipping, and other warehouse support tasks as needed.
- Complete all paperwork, documentation, and transactions accurately and on time.
- Monday–Friday schedule (no nights or weekends)

- High school diploma, GED, or equivalent.
- Minimum 1 year in a progressive role (2 years preferred)
- Product/applications experience required
- Basic computer proficiency
- Ability to remain in stationary position, often standing or sitting for prolonged periods.
- Ability to lift, carry, and adjust weighing up to 100 pounds in multiple directions.
- Previous experience in plumbing, irrigation, or a related industry
- Minimum 2 years in similar position preferred
- Wholesale distribution experience preferred
- Customer-facing sales experience preferred
- Strong customer service and communication skills
- Ability to manage time and multitask in a busy environment
- Comfortable with initiating sales and recommending additional products
- Team player with a positive attitude
