3D Imaging Technologist

Overview

The 3D Imaging Technologist is responsible for utilizing advanced imaging software to manipulate diagnostic images that support radiologists in identifying anatomical abnormalities. This role works under provider direction and follows established protocols to ensure high-quality imaging and accurate interpretation support.

The ideal candidate combines strong technical expertise, patient-centered care, and attention to detail to contribute to exceptional diagnostic outcomes.

Key Responsibilities

Patient Care & Support

  • Monitor patient condition, safety, and comfort during procedures; report any abnormalities or changes
  • Explain imaging procedures to patients and families to reduce anxiety and ensure cooperation

Imaging & Diagnostics

  • Perform advanced image manipulation for diagnostic interpretation
  • Operate radiologic and/or MRI equipment to produce high-quality diagnostic images
  • Collaborate with radiologists and specialists during image review and diagnostic processes

Technical & Equipment Management

  • Adjust imaging equipment based on provider orders and established protocols
  • Ensure equipment is functioning properly through routine checks and minor maintenance
  • Report major equipment issues for repair or replacement

Workflow & Documentation

  • Review patient records and imaging orders to prepare for procedures
  • Prioritize workflow and ensure timely completion of imaging studies
  • Accurately record diagnostic data and enter required information into patient records

Qualifications

Education

  • Graduate of an accredited Radiologic Technology program (required)

Experience

  • Relevant experience in diagnostic imaging or advanced imaging modalities preferred

Licensure & Certifications (Required)

One of the following certification pathways is required:

  • Registered Technologist in Radiography (ARRT) AND
    • Registered Technologist in Computed Tomography (CT)
      OR
    • Registered Technologist in Magnetic Resonance Imaging (MRI)

OR

  • Certified Nuclear Medicine Technologist (CNMT)
