ER RN Job Details – Asheville, NC

• Location: Asheville, NC 28801 (North Carolina healthcare jobs)
• Facility: Emergency Department – Level II Trauma Center, Comprehensive Stroke Center
• Assignment Type: Locum tenens (Travel/Contract Registered Nurse)
• Start Date: August 25, 2025
• End Date: November 24, 2025
• Duration: 13-week nursing contract
• Hours per Week: 36
• Shift: 12-hour nights (12:45 PM – 1:15 AM)
• Estimated Weekly Salary: $1640 - $1680 per week

Registered Nurse Qualifications

• Active Registered Nurse (RN) license in North Carolina or compact state
• Minimum 2 years of clinical nursing experience, with at least 1 year as an Emergency Room RN
• Experience in a Level II trauma center or high-volume emergency department (100,000+ visits/year) preferred
• Required certifications: ACLS, BLS, PALS, TNCC, CPI, NIHSS (all prior to start); ENPC within 90 days of hire
• Strong teamwork skills and flexibility to work in all areas of the emergency department
• Ability to coach, mentor, and provide real-time feedback to colleagues
• Professionalism and a commitment to delivering outstanding patient care experiences

ER Nurse Responsibilities

• Deliver high-quality, compassionate emergency nursing care in a fast-paced clinical environment
• Manage patient loads with typical ratios of 4:1 (medical) and up to 7:1 (ED behavioral holds)
• Collaborate with healthcare teams, including techs, unit clerks, and multidisciplinary staff
• Utilize Baxter pumps, GE monitors, and Cerner electronic documentation system
• Float within all sections of the emergency department as needed
• Maintain accurate patient boards and communicate effectively with patients and families
• Adhere to hospital policies, dress code (navy scrubs), and attendance standards
