Overview
Speech Language Pathologist, Acute Care, Mount Olive, North Carolina. Start date: 07/08/2026 for an 8-week travel assignment. Weekly pay range: $1,910–$2,061 per week with guaranteed hours of 35 per week. Shift: 5x8 Days. Setting: corrections in the acute care continuum.

- Conduct comprehensive speech-language pathology evaluations for acute care patients in a corrections setting and develop individualized treatment plans.
- Provide therapy addressing speech, language, cognitive-communication, and swallowing disorders; document progress and adjust plans as needed.
- Perform bedside assessments and therapy sessions; monitor patient response while adhering to infection control and safety protocols.
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams (nursing, physicians, case management, social work) to coordinate care and discharge planning.
- Educate patients and, when appropriate, families or caregivers on communication strategies and safe swallowing techniques; support functional communication goals.
- Maintain accurate, timely documentation in the electronic health record; ensure confidentiality and compliance with facility policies. Requirements
- Active, unrestricted Speech-Language Pathologist license or credentialing as required for the assignment jurisdiction
- Ability to obtain and maintain credentials required for travel assignments
- Experience in acute care settings preferred; experience in a corrections environment is a plus
- Strong documentation skills and proficiency with electronic health records
- Ability to work in a correctional setting and comply with security and safety requirements
- Availability to work guaranteed 35 hours per week on a 5x8 day schedule Benefits and Support
