Job Title: Platform Engineer

Location: Qualified candidates must be located in Research Triangle, North Carolina, USA

Job Type: Full-Time
Reports To: VP of Engineering

Position Summary:

We are seeking a skilled and innovative Platform Engineer to design, build, and maintain the core infrastructure that powers Unifyr’s products and services. The ideal candidate will ensure our platforms are secure, scalable, and optimized for performance, enabling the seamless delivery of world-class solutions.

Key Responsibilities:

Platform Development:

• Design, implement, and maintain scalable and reliable platforms to support Unifyr’s applications and services.
• Develop and optimize infrastructure-as-code (IaC) to ensure efficient deployment and management of resources.

System Performance & Scalability:

• Monitor and enhance platform performance, ensuring reliability under varying workloads.
• Architect scalable solutions to handle growth and demand spikes seamlessly.

Security & Compliance:

• Implement robust security measures to protect platforms from vulnerabilities and threats.
• Ensure compliance with industry standards and best practices for data protection and cybersecurity.

Automation & Optimization:

• Automate workflows, deployments, and system configurations to improve efficiency and reduce manual tasks.
• Continuously optimize infrastructure for cost-effectiveness and performance.

Collaboration:

• Work closely with developers, DevOps engineers, and other stakeholders to integrate platform services with product requirements.
• Act as a technical advisor to teams, ensuring best practices in platform engineering are followed.

Incident Response:

• Investigate and resolve platform-related incidents, implementing preventive measures to avoid recurrence.
• Maintain high availability of systems, leveraging monitoring tools to detect and address issues proactively.

Qualifications:

Education:

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field. Certifications in cloud platforms or infrastructure management (e.g., AWS Certified Solutions Architect, Google Professional Cloud Architect) are a plus.

Experience:

• 5+ years of experience in platform engineering, infrastructure management, or related roles.
• Proven expertise in designing and maintaining scalable platforms.

Technical Skills:

• Proficiency in cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, GCP) and containerization technologies (Docker, Kubernetes).
• Strong knowledge of infrastructure-as-code tools (e.g., Terraform, Ansible, CloudFormation).
• Experience with CI/CD pipelines, monitoring tools (e.g., Prometheus, Grafana), and scripting languages (Python, Bash).
• Understanding of networking, databases, and distributed systems architecture.
