Tree Climber - Apprentice

The right person will have 2-5 years tree work experience with increasing crew responsibility. Compensation will depend on experience and will include a performance bonus.

• Tree pruning and removal with or without spikes.
• Showing crews what work needs to be done.
• Developing key performance goals and holding employees accountable.
• Ensuring that crews deliver quality service to clients.
• Training crews to be safe and OSHA compliant (and maintaining documentation).
• Ensure a safe and compliant work environment.

Required skills/experience:

• MUST HAVE A CLEAN DRIVERS LICENSE (no more than one moving violation in 3 years and any DUI in last 7 years).
• Must be able to drive a truck with a manual transmission (stick).
• Climbing and roping skills.
• Ability to operate a bucket truck.
• Proactive (I.e. implements maintenance schedule as opposed to fixing things after they break).
• Creating proposals/estimates/quotes.
• Ability to identify local plants and trees.

Highly desirable skills/experience:

• Certified arborist.
• College degree.
• Crane work.
• OSHA training certification.
• Commercial Driver’s License (CDL).
• Experience with Microsoft Office products (Word, Excel & PowerPoint).
