Location: Qualified candidates need to be located in Research Triangle, North Carolina

Reports To: VP of Engineering

Position Summary: We are seeking a skilled and innovative Product Engineer to join our team. In this role, you will collaborate with cross-functional teams to design, develop, and refine products that meet customer needs and business objectives. Your expertise will help bridge the gap between product design and manufacturing, ensuring high-quality outcomes, efficient production, and exceptional user experiences.

Key Responsibilities:

• Product Design & Development:
  • Collaborate with product managers, designers, and engineers to develop innovative product solutions.
  • Create and review technical specifications, prototypes, and drawings.
• Manufacturing Support:
  • Work closely with manufacturing teams to ensure feasibility and efficiency of designs.
  • Identify and resolve production challenges, optimizing for cost, quality, and timelines.
• Testing & Quality Assurance:
  • Develop and implement testing protocols to ensure product reliability and compliance with industry standards.
  • Analyze test results and recommend design or material modifications as needed.
• Cross-Functional Collaboration:
  • Serve as a technical liaison between product design and engineering teams.
  • Communicate effectively with stakeholders to translate technical concepts into actionable plans.
• Continuous Improvement:
  • Stay updated on industry trends, materials, and technologies.
  • Propose and implement process improvements for product development and manufacturing.

Required Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Product Design, Industrial Engineering, or a related field.
• Proven experience (X+ years) in product development, engineering, or a related role.
• Proficiency in CAD software (e.g., SolidWorks, AutoCAD) and simulation tools.
• Strong understanding of materials science, manufacturing processes, and industry standards.
• Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills.
• Strong communication and collaboration abilities.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Experience in agile development or lean manufacturing environments.
• Knowledge of sustainability practices in product design and manufacturing.
• Familiarity with project management tools and methodologies.
