Responsibilities

• The ideal candidate will be comfortable practicing autonomously and independently, as this role requires a high level of self‑sufficiency.
• The physician will be responsible for managing a patient load of approximately 18–22 patients per day after an initial ramp‑up period.
• Provide high‑quality, evidence‑based primary care services for patients in an outpatient setting.
• Collaborate with other healthcare professionals to provide comprehensive patient care.
• Diagnose and treat acute illnesses and chronic diseases and conditions. Also immunize patients against preventable diseases.
• Prescribe or administer medication, therapy, and other specialized medical care to treat or prevent illness, disease, or injury.
• Explain procedures, care plans, test results or prescribed treatments with patients (and their family).
• Monitor patients’ conditions and progress and re‑evaluate treatments, as necessary.
• Provide health and wellness advice to patients, including diet, physical activity, hygiene, and disease prevention.
• Maintain detailed notes of appointments with patients, including comments, tests, and/or treatments prescribed, and test results.
• Refer patients to other medical specialists, when necessary.
• Provide support and advice to patients receiving long‑term care.

Required Qualifications

• Current and unrestricted medical license or willingness to obtain a medical license in the state of North Carolina.
• Graduate of an accredited MD or DO program from an accredited university.
• Board Certification or eligibility to become certified (ABMS or AOA) in Family Medicine or Internal Medicine.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Demonstrate a high level of skill with interpersonal relationships and communication with colleagues and patients.
• Fully engaged in the concept of “Integrated team‑based care” model.
• Superior patient/customer service.
• Basic computer skills, including email and EMR. We use Athena.

Preferred Qualifications

• Active and unrestricted DEA license.
• Medicare Provider Number.
• Minimum of three to seven years of directly applicable experience preferred.
