Sanitation Truck Driver

Example of Duties:

• Under general supervision, operates a roll-off truck or front loader truck while servicing containers at solid waste collection sites throughout Robeson County are picked up as required and assigned.
• Work involves driving sanitation vehicles, maintaining cleanliness of vehicles, and performing minor routine service, reports needed repairs to mechanics.
• Employee drives to dump sites, schools, and various sites to pick up refuse/trash.
• Work also involves emptying containers at landfill and assisting other drivers on routes, and reporting violators.
• Reports to the Sanitation Truck Crew Supervisor.

Education and Experience:

• High School Diploma; 2 years’ experience in truck operations or any equivalent combination of training and experience, which provides the required combination of skills, knowledge and abilities.
• Valid North Carolina Commercial Driver’s License (CDL) class B required upon hire and for duration of employment. Out of state driver’s license will be accepted only if the individual is a permanent resident of that state
• Must take and successfully pass a pre-employment drug test, Motor Vehicle Records driver license check, as well as submit to random, reasonable suspicion, and post-accident drug and alcohol testing.
