Medical Director, Psychiatrist, Crisis Services - Charlotte NC

Monarch is seeking an experienced Psychiatrist to serve as the Medical Director for Crisis & Urgent Care Services at our new Stephen M. Morris Behavioral Health Center , a state-of-the-art, 60,000‑sf, 72‑bed Tier 4 behavioral health facility. This is a unique opportunity to shape a flagship program designed to expand access to high-quality behavioral health care for children, adolescents, and adults across the region.

Who We’re Looking For

We welcome applications from:

• Child & Adolescent Psychiatrists , or

• General Psychiatrists with experience treating children and adolescents

• Additional experience in Addiction Medicine is highly valued.

About the Facility

Opening in August 2026, the Stephen M. Morris Behavioral Health Center will include:

• 24-bed Psychiatric Residential Treatment Facility (PRTF) for children and adolescents

• 16-bed Facility-Based Crisis (FBC) unit for children and adolescents

• Behavioral Health Urgent Care serving children, adolescents, and adults

• Onsite Pharmacy

• A Learning Kitchen supporting therapeutic programming for the PRTF

Role Overview

The Medical Director will oversee the planning, development, implementation, and ongoing quality of all medical services delivered within the center. This includes:

• Ensuring high standards of clinical care and provider performance

• Partnering closely with medical and clinical leadership on program initiatives

• Establishing consistent, evidence-informed clinical operations across service lines

• Providing 40% direct patient care and 60% administrative leadership

• Offering clinical oversight for Advanced Practice Providers (APPs)

A strong preference is given to candidates who can work onsite during the initial launch phase . Once operations are stable, a hybrid onsite/remote schedule may be considered.
