Medical Technologist - Point of Care

Position Overview
The Medical Laboratory Technologist performs a wide range of routine and specialized laboratory testing to support the diagnosis, monitoring, and treatment of disease. This role uses advanced laboratory instrumentation and information systems, evaluates and validates patient results, and exercises considerable independent judgment within established testing methodologies. The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, quality-focused, and committed to maintaining the highest standards of laboratory performance.
- Day Shift (8:00am–4:30pm)
- Salary: $30–$37/hour
- Sign-On Bonus or Relocation Incentive Available
Key Responsibilities
Perform moderate- and high-complexity laboratory tests using established methodologies and instrumentation.
Validate, interpret, and report patient results using sound clinical judgment.
Perform daily, weekly, and monthly quality control procedures; document and troubleshoot QC issues as needed.
Operate, maintain, and calibrate laboratory instruments and analyzers; coordinate vendor service when required.
Maintain accurate records of testing, QC, instrument maintenance, and regulatory documentation.
Assist with new test validation, procedure development, and implementation of updated instruments or methodologies.
Lead or participate in lab initiatives such as safety, performance improvement, regulatory readiness, administrative tasks, or computer systems management.
Train and mentor new employees and students in laboratory theory, procedures, and operational workflow.
Serve as a technical resource for less experienced staff and assist with problem-solving across the department.
Support inventory and supply management to ensure uninterrupted laboratory operations.
Perform other duties as assigned.
Required Qualifications
Associate’s Degree in Medical Technology or Medical Laboratory Technology (required)
Bachelor’s Degree in Clinical Laboratory Science (preferred)
ASCP or AMT certification (preferred)
Minimum of 2 years of experience in moderate- to high-complexity clinical laboratory testing (preferred)
