Job Title: Machinist

Job Description

We are seeking a skilled machinist who is flexible and adaptable to join our team. The role involves working 10-hour shifts from Monday to Thursday, starting from 2:30pm to 12:50am, with some overtime on Fridays, typically starts at 10am. Initially, training will occur for under a month on the first shift, Monday to Thursday, with optional overtime on Friday mornings. The position offers diverse daily tasks, ensuring no two days are the same.

Responsibilities

• Read and interpret blueprints.
• Measure and teach tools effectively.
• Machine close tolerances and fits.
• Adjust cutters to obtain needed tolerances and understand the impact on subsequent programs and cutters.
• Modify programs and comprehend the effects of adjustments on subsequent operations.
• Set-up and indicate parts accurately before machining.
• Write programs directly at the machine from drawings.
• Modify programs by selecting optimal machining conditions, including feed, speed, depth of cut, and axis movements.
• Utilize micrometers and calipers to measure within .005mm or 0.0002”.
• Multi-task by preparing the next job before the current one is finished to reduce set-up time.
• Operate multiple machines during long program runs.

Essential Skills

• Proficiency with CNC lathe operations and some milling experience.
• Ability to read, write, and edit G&M code.
• Competency in using micrometers and other measuring tools.
• Understanding of basic machining concepts and part interactions.
• Common computer knowledge to retrieve programs from a server to CNC lathe.
• Experience with common CNC controls.
• Ability to interpret complicated blueprints.
• Minimum of 2 years of relevant experience with programming and CNC lathe machines.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

• Welding experience is a plus.
• Awareness of conversational programming.

This is a Permanent position based out of Apex, NC.

The pay range for this position is $49920.00 - $56160.00/yr.

This is a fully onsite position in Apex,NC.
