Responsibilities

• Assist during Mohs surgical procedures, ensuring proper setup and availability of instruments.
• Prepare and position patients for procedures, taking vital signs and clearing medical history.
• Maintain sterile techniques and assist with wound care and post-operative follow-ups.
• Document patient interactions and maintain accurate medical records.
• Provide patient education regarding post-operative care and recovery.
• Manage scheduling and coordination of Mohs surgery appointments and follow-ups.
• Ensure all surgical areas are clean, organized, and stocked with necessary supplies.

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent; certification as a Medical Assistant is required.
• Experience in a clinical setting, particularly in dermatology or surgical assistance is preferred.
• Knowledge of Mohs surgery techniques and procedures.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills to work effectively with patients and the surgical team.
• Ability to handle sensitive information confidentially and with discretion.
• Excellent organizational skills with a keen attention to detail in high-pressure situations.
• Proficiency with electronic health records (EHR) systems and basic office software.
