Construction Safety Coordinator
Our client, a heavy civil turn key sit contractor in Charlotte, NC is seeking a dedicated Safety Coordinator to implement and enforce safety policies and procedures on their sites to ensure a safe working environment for all employees. The Safety Coordinator will work closely with project teams to promote a strong culture of safety and risk prevention. salary: $75,000 - 85,000 per year
work hours: 8am to 4pm
education: No Degree Required responsibilities:
- Implement and maintain site-specific safety plans and programs.
- Conduct regular site safety inspections, audits and risk assessments
- Identify unsafe conditions or behaviors and discuss corrective actions with senior management.
- Ensure compliance with OSHA and other applicable safety regulations
- Investigate accidents, incidents and near misses; prepare detailed reports
- Conduct toolbox talks and ongoing safety training
- Maintain safety documents, logs, permits and compliance records.
- Review PTP, confined space permits, etc.
- Monitor use of personal PPE and safety equipment.
- bilingual speaking (Spanish) strongly preferred
- 3+ years of construction safety experience (preferred)
- OSHA 30-hour certification (OSHA 500/501 preferred)
- CPR/First Aid certification (or ability to obtain)
- Excellent communication and training skills.
- Ability to conduct training in large groups.
- Knowledge of the range of heavy equipment in our industry.
- Ability to travel to jobsites as required to conduct safety duties.
- Experience level: Experienced
