Sr Social Services Manager - Adult Social Work
Position Specific Information:
The Senior Social Services Manager for Adult Social Work Services provides operational oversight, and programmatic direction for Adult Protective Services (APS), Guardianship, Facility Monitoring, and Intake Unit. This role is responsible for ensuring high quality, legally compliant, and person-centered delivery across multiple program areas serving vulnerable adults. The Senior Manager leads supervisors and multidisciplinary teams, oversees policy implementation, performance management, quality assurance, budget oversight, and continuous improvement efforts. This position partners with internal divisions, legal counsel, healthcare providers, behavioral health agencies, and community stakeholders to strengthen service coordination, improve outcomes, and promotes safety, dignity, and effective service delivery for vulnerable adults. After hours on-call is required for this leadership role.
Position Summary:
Plan, develop, and manage human services programs. This senior-level position is responsible for organizing staff to effectively carry out program activities; implementing program design, development and strategic planning; and ensure compliance with program requirements.
- Experience: Minimum of seven years of experience in area of assignment and two years of supervisory experience.
- Education: Bachelor's degree in Human Services or related field.

- Licenses and Certifications:
- Requires a valid North Carolina or South Carolina Driver's License.
- Requires County Driving Privileges.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Master’s degree in social work (MSW) or closely related human service field.
- Five (5)+ years of progressive professional experience in adult social work services, including Adult Protective Services (APS), guardianship, facility monitoring, and intake.
- Three (3)+ years of supervisory experience in assigned program area.
- Demonstrated experience managing complex, high risk cases involving abuse, neglect, and exploitation, and capacity concerns.
- Strong knowledge of North Carolina statutes, administrative codes, and best practices related to APS, Guardianship, Facility Monitoring, and Intake.
- Proven ability to lead teams, and support workforce development.
- Experience with quality assurance, performance management, data-informed decision-making, and continuous improvement initiatives.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills, including policy development, report writing, and stakeholder engagement.
