Travel Nurse Job Details

• Location: Burlington, NC (27215) – North Carolina nursing jobs
• Facility: 32-bed orthopedic and medical-surgical unit with telemetry monitoring and on-unit physical therapy gym
• Employment Type: Travel RN (locum tenens)
• Shift: 3x12-hour day shifts (7:00 AM – 7:30 PM), every other weekend
• Hours per Week: 36
• Assignment Duration: 13 weeks (Start: 9/23/2025 – End: 12/23/2025)
• Estimated Weekly Salary: $1820-$1870
• Orientation: 24 hours
• Charting System: Epic EMR
• Float: Required to other units/campuses as needed

Registered Nurse Qualifications

• Active Registered Nurse (RN) license – North Carolina or compact state
• BLS certification (required)
• Minimum 2 years of recent RN experience in orthopedic, medical-surgical, or telemetry nursing
• Experience with Epic charting system (required)
• Ability to pass EKG exam during compliance (2 attempts allowed)
• Strong clinical skills in orthopedic, med/surg, and telemetry patient care
• Previous charge nurse experience preferred
• Patient ratio experience: 5-6
• Compliance file completion by deadline required
• COVID-19 and Flu vaccines required (medical/religious exemptions accepted)
• Willingness to float as needed
• Education verification and background check required
• No local candidates accepted (must reside outside 50-mile radius)

Orthopedic RN Responsibilities

• Provide high-quality nursing care to adult and geriatric orthopedic and medical-surgical patients
• Manage post-operative patients including total joint replacements, fracture repairs, kyphoplasties, and other orthopedic surgeries
• Monitor patients using telemetry; deliver wound care, pain management, and post-operative support
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary healthcare teams: physical therapy, respiratory services, pharmacy, and social services
• Float to other units/campuses as required
• Maintain accurate documentation in Epic EMR
• Participate in orientation and required training modules
• Adhere to facility policies, including zero-tolerance for tardiness and unexcused absences
