As a Field IT Technician, you'll play a direct role in helping our restaurant teams deliver great guest experiences by ensuring the systems they rely on work seamlessly.
Position Summary:
As a Field IT Technician, you'll be responsible for the setup, maintenance, troubleshooting, and repair of essential IT infrastructure across multiple restaurant locations. Your work will directly impact operations and team performance by ensuring system uptime and functionality across Point-of-Sale (POS), networking, audio/visual, security, and back-office systems.
This full-time position requires regular travel, a flexible schedule, and occasional overnight assignments based on operational needs.
Key Responsibilities:
- Technology Support & Troubleshooting: Provide remote and on-site technical support for POS systems, KDS, payment terminals, printers, and networking equipment.
- Emergency Response: Respond to urgent technology issues in the field, minimizing downtime and disruptions to restaurant operations.
- Installation & Configuration: Deploy and configure hardware for new restaurant openings and remodels-including POS terminals, Wi-Fi, routers, security cameras, and more.
- Preventive Maintenance: Conduct regular system health checks and maintain inventory, installation, and maintenance logs.
- Communication & Training: Act as an IT resource for store leadership, offering basic training and guidance to help resolve common issues.
- Collaboration: Work closely with corporate IT, operations, and third-party vendors to ensure smooth issue resolution and alignment with company standards.
- Other Duties: Support various IT projects and perform additional tasks as assigned by leadership.
Qualifications:
- Strong technical aptitude and hands-on experience in IT support or systems installation
- Solid understanding of Windows OS, POS systems, basic networking, and low-voltage hardware
- Excellent troubleshooting skills with the ability to think on your feet
- Strong communication skills-able to explain technical concepts clearly to non-technical users
- Self-starter who can prioritize tasks and manage time effectively in the field
- High school diploma or GED required; associate degree or technical certification (CompTIA A+, Network+, etc.) preferred
- Minimum 2 years of IT support experience, preferably in a retail, QSR, or multi-unit environment
- Valid driver's license and reliable transportation required for travel between locations
