- Facility: Emergency Department – Level II Trauma Center, Comprehensive Stroke Center
- Assignment Type: Locum tenens / Travel Registered Nurse contract
- Start Date: September 2, 2025
- End Date: December 2, 2025
- Duration: 13-week nursing contract
- Shift: 12-hour nights (3:00 PM – 3:00 AM)
- Hours per Week: 36
- Estimated Weekly Salary: $2020 - $2300
- Patient Ratios: Typically 4:1 (medical), up to 7:1 for ED behavioral holds
- Unit Size: 101 beds
- Active Registered Nurse (RN) license in North Carolina or compact state (NC nursing jobs)
- Minimum 2 years of clinical nursing experience, with at least 1 year as an Emergency Room RN
- Experience in Level II trauma center or high-volume emergency department (100,000+ visits/year) preferred
- Required certifications: ACLS, BLS, PALS, TNCC, CPI, NIHSS (prior to start)
- ENPC certification within 90 days of hire
- Strong teamwork and adaptability to float within all areas of the ED
- Ability to coach peers and provide real-time feedback in a clinical setting
- Proficiency with Cerner EMR system preferred
- Deliver high-quality, compassionate emergency nursing care in a fast-paced hospital environment
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary healthcare teams, including techs and unit clerks, to optimize patient outcomes
- Operate advanced medical equipment such as Baxter pumps and GE monitors
- Uphold AIDET and patient experience standards, ensuring respectful communication and regular updates to patients and families
- Float to all sections of the Emergency Department as needed
- Maintain accurate, timely documentation using Cerner EMR
- Adhere to hospital policies, dress code (navy scrubs), and attendance requirements
