ER RN Job Details – Asheville, NC

• Location: Asheville, NC 28801 (North Carolina healthcare jobs)
• Facility: Emergency Department – Level II Trauma Center, Comprehensive Stroke Center
• Assignment Type: Locum tenens / Travel Registered Nurse contract
• Start Date: September 2, 2025
• End Date: December 2, 2025
• Duration: 13-week nursing contract
• Shift: 12-hour nights (3:00 PM – 3:00 AM)
• Hours per Week: 36
• Estimated Weekly Salary: $2020 - $2300
• Patient Ratios: Typically 4:1 (medical), up to 7:1 for ED behavioral holds
• Unit Size: 101 beds

ER Registered Nurse Qualifications

• Active Registered Nurse (RN) license in North Carolina or compact state (NC nursing jobs)
• Minimum 2 years of clinical nursing experience, with at least 1 year as an Emergency Room RN
• Experience in Level II trauma center or high-volume emergency department (100,000+ visits/year) preferred
• Required certifications: ACLS, BLS, PALS, TNCC, CPI, NIHSS (prior to start)
• ENPC certification within 90 days of hire
• Strong teamwork and adaptability to float within all areas of the ED
• Ability to coach peers and provide real-time feedback in a clinical setting
• Proficiency with Cerner EMR system preferred

ER Nurse Responsibilities

• Deliver high-quality, compassionate emergency nursing care in a fast-paced hospital environment
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary healthcare teams, including techs and unit clerks, to optimize patient outcomes
• Operate advanced medical equipment such as Baxter pumps and GE monitors
• Uphold AIDET and patient experience standards, ensuring respectful communication and regular updates to patients and families
• Float to all sections of the Emergency Department as needed
• Maintain accurate, timely documentation using Cerner EMR
• Adhere to hospital policies, dress code (navy scrubs), and attendance requirements
