Position Summary

The CT Technologist performs diagnostic imaging procedures using computerized tomography (CT) equipment to produce high-quality images while ensuring patient safety, comfort, and adherence to established protocols.

Schedule

• Days: Saturday, Sunday, Monday
• Hours: 8:00 AM – 8:30 PM
• Standard Hours: 36 hours per week

Key Responsibilities

• Verify patient identification, obtain patient history, and ensure patient safety and comfort.
• Perform CT scans according to established protocols, including multi-planar and 3D image reconstruction.
• Select appropriate imaging parameters based on anatomy and clinical indications.
• Administer oral and IV contrast to adult and pediatric patients following safety protocols and verifying lab values.
• Establish IV access and determine patient eligibility for contrast studies.
• Transfer, verify, and manage images using PACS, EPIC, and related imaging systems.
• Ensure accurate documentation, order management, and charge capture.
• Review patient charts and prior imaging for correlation.
• Maintain a clean, organized work environment and efficient workflow.
• Assist with training and precepting new employees and students.
• Participate in quality improvement initiatives, research, and complex imaging procedures.

Required Qualifications

Education

• Completion of an accredited Radiologic Technology program (or completion within 3 months of application).

Licensure & Certifications

• Registered with the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) or registry-eligible.
• Advanced CT certification required within one year of hire.
• Current BLS (Basic Life Support) certification required.

Experience

• Prior education, training, and experience sufficient to perform assigned duties.

Compensation

• Hourly Pay Range: $33.37 – $47.95 (hiring range)
• Pay is based on experience and internal equity.

• This is a State of North Carolina position employed by UNC Health Care System.
