Travel RN Job Details

• Location: Asheville, NC (Mission Hospital, D2 Unit) – Western North Carolina healthcare jobs
• Job Title: Travel Registered Nurse – Progressive Care Unit (PCU) / Telemetry
• Employment Type: Travel nursing contract
• Shift: 12-Hour Days (6:45 AM – 7:15 PM)
• Hours per Week: 36
• Assignment Duration: 13 weeks (Start: 9/22/2025 – End: 12/22/2025)
• Weekend Requirement: Every other weekend
• Dress Code: Navy and/or white top, navy bottom, or all white
• Estimated Weekly Salary: $1800–$1840

Registered Nurse Qualifications

• Active Registered Nurse (RN) license in North Carolina or compact state
• Minimum 1 year of recent experience in progressive care, step-down, or telemetry nursing
• BLS (Basic Life Support) and ACLS (Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support) certifications required
• Demonstrated telemetry competency
• Electronic Medical Record (EMR) experience; Cerner EMR preferred
• Strong communication, clinical, and teamwork skills
• Patient-focused approach and positive attitude

Travel RN Responsibilities

• Deliver high-quality nursing care to medical-surgical and step-down patients in a 20-bed inpatient overflow unit
• Monitor patient status using hardwired bedside telemetry equipment
• Manage rapid patient turnover (target 24-hour length of stay)
• Collaborate with charge nurses, CNAs, and fellow RNs to optimize patient outcomes
• Float to other hospital units as needed
• Maintain accurate clinical documentation using Cerner EMR
• Adhere to unit policies, procedures, and best practices
