About the Position
Job Title: Registered Nurse Profession: RN Specialty: Progressive Care Unit Duration: 13 weeks Shift: Night Hours per Shift: 12 Experience: 2+ years License: Valid RN License Certifications: ACLS, BLS, NIHSS Must-Have: Candidates must possess ACLS, BLS, and NIHSS certifications. Neuro and trauma care experience is required. Description: This position is for a registered nurse in a progressive care unit. The unit has a total of 44 beds and a staffing team of 95 members. On day shifts, the unit is staffed with 2 charge nurses, 11 RNs, 4 CNAs, and 1 HUC. The night shift grid consists of the same staff configuration. Patient ratios are 4:1 for normal grid and 5:1 when stretched. Available equipment includes IV pumps, Skylifts, PCA pumps, chest tubes, tracheostomies, and patient lifts. The electronic medical record system utilized is Cerner. Typical procedures on this unit include neuro and spinal checks, C-collar placements, TLSO brace applications, chest tube insertion, PCA pump management, IV infusions, lumbar drain placements, feeding tube placements, and blood transfusions. The best candidates will be team players with a patient-focused attitude. Weekend shifts are mandatory every other weekend. This position was created to fill a vacant role.
