Construction Safety & Quality Assurance Manager

We are a Mission focused, Values driven Facilities Maintenance Company located in the Greater Charlotte Metro area, NC currently searching for a Construction Safety & Quality Assurance Manager to join our team. Applicants must have a safety & quality control background within the facilities maintenance and or construction industry, and knowledge of OSHA requirements. Reporting to the Chief Operating Officer, this role will be responsible for coordinating, completing, and monitoring activities necessary to maintain an impeccable safety record and minimize incidents of internal and external quality control incidents via proactive execution.

As a Construction Safety & Quality Assurance Manager, you will:

  • Conduct accident and incident investigations and provide recommendations for corrective/preventive action.
  • Reviews subcontractor safety program to ensure compliance with projects safety standards
  • Oversee and resolve all internal and external quality control and additional pay issues
  • Work collaboratively with the operations’ teams to resolve quality control incidents and achieve key performance Indicators
  • Create & execute all necessary preventive and corrective activities for improvement, change requirements, and innovations that reduce risks to the company and its contractors
  • Complete monthly audits of every department within the company to ensure process, compliance, and documentation
  • Create trend reports for leadership meetings
  • Perform local safety inspections at job sites
  • Communicate and provide training to employees on all aspects of quality control, OSHA, site specific safety plans and safety inspections
  • Complete and submit yearly OSHA certification and STEP (Safety Training & Evaluation Process) application
  • Coordinate, manage and verify that every team member in the company is OSHA30 compliant
  • Oversee safety Inspections to ensure project managers complete their annual targets
  • Collaborate with Operations team to maximize customer service scoring
  • Accountability for follow through on identified issues to resolution

 What you have:

  • Minimum of five (5) years of related experience in safety, quality control, and OSHA compliance within the facilities maintenance and or construction industry.
  • High level OSHA background – understanding of safety prevention and compliance in-house (internal) and in the field (external).
  • Understanding of incident/accident procedures with the ability to mitigate fines and legal concerns.
  • Personal commitment to high-quality and safety standards.
  • Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to foster a culture of high standards in the areas of safety and quality control.
  • Ability to identify problem safety & quality issues and implement a solution to resolve them.
  • Detective mindset to uncover root causes and commitment to full resolution
  • Effect accountability at all levels within the organization (staff to executive level)
  • Understanding of commercial and residential building construction/maintenance projects and process or ability to learn within assigned time frame
  • Ability to work with minimal supervision.
  • High attention to detail with strong organizational skills.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office: Outlook, TEAMS, Excel, Word
  • Travel required to visit project sites and customers
  • GC license a plus
