Job Description
Maintenance Technician
Location: Durham, NC
Schedule: 2nd Shift | Monday–Friday | 2:00 PM – 10:30 PM
Pay: $30.00 per hour
Are you the kind of person who likes to figure things out, fix what’s broken, and keep complex equipment running at its best? Do you enjoy working with your hands, solving mechanical and electrical problems, and knowing that production depends on your expertise?
We’re looking for a skilled, motivated Maintenance Technician who wants more than just routine repairs — someone who takes ownership of equipment, works proactively, and plays a critical role in keeping a highperformance manufacturing facility running safely and efficiently.
This is not a callandwait role. This is a handson, technically engaged position where your troubleshooting ability, attention to detail, and preventative mindset truly matter.
Responsibilities of the Maintenance Tech:
- Provide daily maintenance support and repairs for all production and facility equipment
- Perform preventive maintenance using work orders, checklists, and manufacturer procedures
- Diagnose issues and repair or replace worn or defective parts to minimize downtime
- Bend and install conduit; pull, terminate, and troubleshoot wiring
- Replace motors and support mechanical, hydraulic, pneumatic, and electrical systems
- Troubleshoot electrical and electronic equipment, including:
- Singlephase and threephase systems
- Ladder diagrams, schematics, and singleline drawings
- Lowvoltage relay logic, digital and analog electronics
- Work safely around ammonia systems, acid systems, steam, chillers, compressed air, gas lines, and highvoltage equipment
- Inspect equipment regularly and address potential issues before failures occur
- Support maintenance needs for offsite or leased manufacturing and warehouse locations, including picking up spare parts
- Collaborate closely with Managers, Supervisors, Operators, and Production teams to resolve issues quickly
- Assist with building security systems, alarms, and fire protection equipment
- Maintain a strong safetyfirst mindset in all tasks and environments
Requirements for the Maintenance Tech:
- Clean drug screen
- Clean background (unfortunately no felonies)
- 2+ years of maintenance experience within a manufacturing or industrial environment
- Willingness to learn and grow in electrical and mechanical maintenance
- Working knowledge of basic electricity and electronics
- Ability to read and understand schematics, diagrams, and technical documentation
- Comfortable working independently or as part of a team
- Strong communication skills and a proactive approach to problemsolving
- Basic computer skills (MS Word & Excel) for documentation and reporting
- Reliable, accountable, and detailoriented
Physical Requirements
- Ability to lift, push, pull, and carry up to 50 lbs
- Standing for extended periods of time
- Walking, bending, stooping, crouching, kneeling, twisting, and climbing
If you’re ready to step into a role where your skills are valued, your judgment matters, and your work makes a real impact every shift — we want to hear from you.
Apply today and keep our operation running strong.
