Business Systems Analyst
Overview
We are seeking a highly technical Business Systems Analyst with a strong background in data quality, SQL, and enterprise data environments. This role serves as the bridge between business and technical teams, helping ensure data accuracy, supporting production issues, validating new features, and driving process improvements.
The ideal candidate combines strong analytical and troubleshooting skills with hands-on technical expertise in SQL, Python, and modern data platforms. Experience leveraging AI tools to improve efficiency and productivity is highly desirable.
Key Responsibilities
Business & Technical Partnership
- Act as a liaison between business stakeholders and technical teams.
- Translate business needs into technical requirements and solutions.
- Ensure solutions align with both user needs and organizational goals.
- Participate in feature reviews and technical evaluations.
Data Analysis & Quality
- Investigate and resolve data-related inquiries, including:
- Data discrepancies
- Duplicate records
- Data validation concerns
- Data loading and integration issues
- Research and document data lineage and data mappings.
- Perform data quality assessments and anomaly detection.
- Partner with testing and validation teams to ensure thorough quality assurance processes.
- Support production issue triage and deployment-related activities.
Process Improvement
- Review existing processes and identify opportunities for improvement.
- Drive best practices related to data governance, validation, and operational efficiency.
- Assist with documentation and process completeness reviews.
- Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives across the team.
Agile Delivery Support
- Create, track, and update work items and tickets within Jira.
- Participate in regular triage, planning, and status meetings.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams throughout the software development lifecycle.
Required Qualifications
Technical Skills
- 5+ years of advanced SQL experience , including:
- Complex query development
- Ad hoc analysis
- Data validation
- Data quality investigations
- Strong working knowledge of Python .
- Experience working with data warehousing concepts and environments.
- Experience analyzing large data sets in enterprise-scale systems.
- Familiarity with Agile methodologies and requirements gathering.
Professional Experience
- 5+ years of experience in an enterprise environment.
- Strong analytical thinking and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent troubleshooting and root-cause analysis capabilities.
- Ability to work independently in a fast-paced environment.
- Exceptional written and verbal communication skills.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with Snowflake .
- Experience leveraging AI tools to automate or accelerate analysis and validation activities.
- Experience with UNIX Shell Scripting .
- Exposure to AI capabilities within modern data platforms.
- Programming background beyond SQL development.
This is a Contract position based out of Charlotte, NC.
Pay and BenefitsThe pay range for this position is $70.00 - $75.00/hr.
Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.
