Job Title: RN - Emergency Department Profession: Registered Nurse Specialty: Emergency Medicine Duration: 13 weeks Shift: Night Shift Hours per Shift: 12 Experience: Minimum of 2 years experience required. License: Registered Nurse Certifications: BLS, ACLS, NIHSS, TNCC Must-Have: Only candidates with 3+ years of Level 1 trauma center experience will be considered if they are first-time travelers. Description: The role requires a skilled and compassionate RN to provide and coordinate comprehensive patient care through the nursing process. You will deliver safe, therapeutic care in accordance with established standards, policies, and procedures. The unit is fast-paced, dealing with various patient types and common diagnoses. You will encounter a wide range of emergencies, including trauma, stroke, cardiac events, and behavioral health issues. Patient ratios may vary based on the area worked or acuity level. Support staff will include ED Techs, a unit secretary, charge nurses, and critical care pharmacists. Technology used includes EMR, IV pumps, medication dispensing systems, and point of care ultrasound equipment. Floating opportunities may exist to other relevant units. Weekend rotations and holiday work are expected, with a schedule structured in cycles. Scrubs should be of the designated color.
