PCU RN Job Details
- Location: Greenville, NC 27834 (Eastern North Carolina healthcare jobs)
- Unit: Progressive Care Unit (PCU) – TSIU
- Position Type: Travel Registered Nurse (locum tenens)
- Assignment Length: 13 weeks (Start: 9/29/2025, End: 12/30/2025)
- Shift: 12-hour night shifts
- Weekly Hours: 36
- RN-to-Patient Ratio: 1:4
- Estimated Weekly Salary: $1910–$1960
- Active Registered Nurse (RN) license (Compact RN license accepted)
- BLS (AHA) and ACLS (AHA) certifications required
- At least 1 year of recent PCU or ICU nursing experience
- Proficient in reading and interpreting cardiac strips
- Must pass Relias exams (2 attempts allowed)
- Comply with 80-mile radius rule for travel nurse eligibility
- Submit all requests for time off (RTO) prior to assignment confirmation
- Deliver high-quality nursing care to patients with acute neurological and medical conditions, including stroke management, post-neurosurgical care, seizure management, multiple sclerosis, and Guillain-Barre syndrome
- Perform NIHSS assessments, assist with lumbar punctures, manage arterial and central lines, provide tracheotomy care, lumbar drains, IV starts, and perform peripheral and arterial blood draws
- Administer and monitor intravenous drips (cardiac, insulin, heparin) and conduct cardiac monitoring
- Collaborate with interdisciplinary healthcare teams to achieve optimal patient outcomes
- Maintain accurate documentation and adhere to PCU unit protocols and safety standards
