We are seeking a detail-oriented professional with strong expertise in employment tax administration to support a complex compliance and process improvement project. This role requires hands-on experience with account set-up and administration, tax return filings (including late filings), and strong project management skills to design and implement efficient tracking mechanisms.

Key Responsibilities

• Jurisdictional Analysis & Registration

  • Identify all jurisdictions requiring registration based on active employee address listings.

  • Design and implement a process to determine where the company is currently registered.

  • Register the company in new jurisdictions as needed, securing account numbers and online access credentials.

• Tax Withholding & Compliance

  • Compile analysis of year-to-date employee withholdings by jurisdiction to confirm compliance and identify gaps.

  • Aggregate and maintain unemployment and tax withholding account information, including account numbers and login credentials.

  • Ensure ADP setup includes all required jurisdictions, account numbers, and employee assignments (including local/township rules for “lived in/worked in” scenarios).

• Return Filings & Remediation

  • Identify delinquent filings and remittances using ADP data.

  • Remediate late or missed filings through ADP where possible, and confirm successful payment of delinquent remittances.

  • Address and resolve late filing penalties and interest charges.

  • Ensure all remittances and reports are captured in ADP to support accurate year-end filings.

• Process Design & Project Management

  • Develop and implement repeatable processes to manage jurisdictional compliance and tax account administration.

  • Create and maintain a project plan and tracking mechanism to monitor progress, risks, and deadlines.

  • Partner with internal teams and ADP to ensure data integrity, accuracy, and compliance across all systems.

Qualifications

• Minimum 3–5 years of experience in employment tax administration or related payroll/tax compliance functions.

• Strong knowledge of multi-jurisdictional tax requirements, including registration and withholding processes.

• Experience managing return filings, late filings, and remediation of penalties and interest.

• Proficiency with ADP payroll systems and other tax/accounting software.

• Strong project management skills, with the ability to design processes, manage timelines, and track deliverables.

• Excellent problem-solving, communication, and organizational skills.
