Summary:

The Donor & Communications Specialist will serve as a valued member of the Resource Development & Communications team supporting a comprehensive community resource development plan to identify, earn, retain, and motivate donors to support CASA’s housing mission. This position reports to the Senior Director, Resource Development.

Duties and Responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

1. Donor Stewardship and Fundraising

• Responsible for maintaining CASA’s CRM database (Bloomerang) to ensure accurate, appropriate, and timely gift processing, acknowledgement, reporting and reconciliation, and relevant donor and donor prospect tracking.

• Implement and maintain a comprehensive and strategic donor stewardship program in collaboration with Resource Development team and the overall year-round resource development plan

• Create and execute acquisition, retention and growth strategy for CASA Champions monthly giving program.

• Manage Peer-to-Peer Campaigns via QGiv or similar platform.

• Assist with Foundation, donor research and prospecting.

• Research and write grants for both operational and program support.

• Ensure accuracy of donations and monthly, quarterly and yearly reports and reminders for soft-credits, in-kind donations, corporate matching gifts, pledges, and planned gifts.

• Analyze and report on monthly fundraising targets and KPIs for the department.

• Assist in the development of policies and procedures and maintenance of database policy manual.

• Provide general administrative support to the CEO and resource development department.

2. Communications

• Execute the delivery of website and social media content to complement Resource Development’s comprehensive communications, marketing and public relations plan, including scheduling, writing and posting content.

• Ensure that the website is updated regularly with compelling content. Promote content across various social media platforms. Demonstrate the site’s effectiveness by monitoring analytics.

• Prepare and edit correspondence, communications, presentations and other documents.

• Serve as primary point of contact for Property Management team on tenant-facing and leasing web portals.

• Serve as contact for vendors such as marketing/website host firm, printers and other vendors, as well as manage inventory of communications materials and supplies.

3. Events

• Serve as primary point of contact for point-of-entry events such as tours and third-party fundraisers

• Assist in execution of CASA fundraisers, live and virtual to ensure high-quality, organized events from ticketing to night of.

• Assist with large and small volunteer events and have flexibility to work extra hours for these events.

• Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

• CRM database knowledge and experience required (Bloomerang, Blackbaud's Raiser's Edge, SalesForce or similar).

• Excellent organization and communication skills, including written and interpersonal skills, phone presence and presentation ability.

• Knowledge of and experience in the nonprofit sector.

Language Ability:

Ability to read, analyze, and interpret common scientific and technical journals, financial reports, and legal documents. Ability to respond to common inquiries from customers, regulatory agencies, or members of the business community. Ability to write speeches and articles for publication that conform to prescribed style and format.

Math Ability:

Ability to work with mathematical concepts such as probability and statistical inference, and fundamentals of plane and solid geometry and trigonometry. Ability to apply concepts such as fractions, percentages, ratios, and proportions to practical situations.

Reasoning Ability: Specific key performance indicators will be set each fiscal year to track progress on:

• Monthly Donor Acquisition, Growth and Retention (CASA Champions)

• Website and Social Media performance and analytics

• Database accuracy

• Strong collaborative relationships with finance, resource development, and cross-departmental teams

• As part of full department focus:

• Total Funds Raised vs. Budget Goals

• New Donor Acquisition

• New Donor Retention Rate

• Overall Donor Retention Rate

• Donors by Giving Level

• Average Donation

• Grants Applied for and Grants Awarded

Computer Skills:

To perform this job successfully, an individual should have knowledge of Microsoft Office and various communications and database applications.

Education/Experience:

Bachelor's degree and two years practical experience in an office setting. Nonprofit experience preferred.

Certificates and Licenses:

Valid driver’s license

Knowledge, Skills and Other Abilities:

· A systematic thinker that relishes in details and processes.

· Demonstrated understanding of issues related to poverty, housing and homelessness.

· Ability to relate to people from a wide range of backgrounds and to engage with target groups including donors, people living with disabilities, social service partners, etc.

· Ability to organize, prioritize and execute multiple activities simultaneously.

The position can be accomplished in a hybrid work environment. The Mission Advancement Team has assigned space at CASA’s office in downtown Raleigh.
