We are seeking an experienced Controls Automation Engineer to provide technical and engineering support for industrial automation systems and electronic controls. This is a hands-on role with broad responsibility for design, programming, troubleshooting, and upgrading automated machinery while mentoring technicians and apprentices in best practices.

The ideal candidate is a seasoned engineer with 10+ years in industrial automation, advanced programming skills, and deep familiarity with Siemens, Allen Bradley, and related control systems.

• Design, read, and modify electrical, fluid power (hydraulics/pneumatics), and P ID schematics in compliance with IEC and NFPA standards.
• Program, configure, and troubleshoot PLCs, HMIs, and SCADA systems across Siemens, Allen Bradley, and other platforms.
• Develop and modify programming in multiple languages, including Siemens SCL, Ladder Logic, VB, C++, C#, Java, Python, and SQL.
• Install, commission, repair, and retrofit industrial machinery and control systems, including obsolete equipment requiring custom solutions.
• Perform advanced troubleshooting using oscilloscopes, thermal imagers, vibration analyzers, and other test equipment.
• Train and mentor technicians/apprentices in programming, troubleshooting, and instrumentation calibration.
• Ensure compliance with safety protocols and PPE requirements while supporting operations across multiple facilities.

• Associate’s degree in Electronics Engineering, Computer Science, or equivalent experience/certifications.
• 10+ years of direct experience in industrial automation and controls.
• Proven proficiency with Siemens and Allen Bradley PLC programming, Ladder Logic, HMIs, VFDs, and SCADA systems.
• Strong experience with blueprints, schematics, P ID diagrams, and industrial communications protocols.
• Proficiency in Microsoft SQL Server and database programming.
• Hands-on expertise with industrial testing equipment and troubleshooting tools.
• Strong understanding of NFPA 70 Electrical Code.
• Ability to work onsite, travel between facilities, and support multiple departments.

• Siemens or Allen-Bradley programming certification.
• State-issued electrical trades license.
• Proficiency in AutoCAD Electrical.
• Supervisory or training experience with technicians, apprentices, or interns.
