Staff Product Mechanical Engineer Electrical
- Develop competencies in agency and environmental certification, Microsoft Office Suites, design, and ERP database support.
- Use solid modeling software CAD & 3D specifically SolidWorks .
- Specifies & performs UL/CSA safety agency verification/validation tests and analysis to specific, detailed requirements.
- Interacts with internal teams to resolve moderate to complex design, development, production, and acceptance issues.
- Writes technical reports on results and conclusions drawn from testing conducted and incorporates findings informal specifications.
- Develop competencies in performing analysis, modeling, and prototype of injection molded plastic or die-cast components and enclosures.
- Manages/conducts part design reviews.
- Designs tests or test fixtures required to duplicate field failures or to qualify product design changes.
- Develop and execute component and subsystem design validation plans and test methods to validate product adherence to requirement.
- Participates in Voice of Customer (VOC) trips, competitive analysis, and market trends and evaluation to develop project business cases.
- Bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering – BSME is required .
- 2-5 years’ experience in the electrical industry,
- Experience of electrical cable, connectors, electrical testing experience and qualification processes.
- Experience with CAD & 3D Modeling (SolidWorks).
- Ability to perform QA/QC inspections.
- Read/interpret engineering documents.
- Test and/or measure parts.
- Excellent attention to detail, organizational and time management skills.
- Ability to travel to manufacturing and customer sites.
