Mechanical Process Engineer
Position Overview
The Mechanical Process Engineer is responsible for all aspects of manufacturing processes, including equipment specification, layout design, quality, and efficiency. This role focuses on developing procedures to reduce risks to ALARA while driving improvements in safety, productivity, and yield. The engineer provides technical support across multiple manufacturing plants, ensuring consistent process application and fostering collaboration between departments.
Essential Duties
- Develop and maintain standardized operating procedures and provide technical training for operators and maintenance personnel.
- Conduct R&D investigations to test and implement new equipment, processes, and engineering principles.
- Perform process analysis for cost reduction, efficiency improvements, and waste reduction.
- Lead Lean and Continuous Improvement initiatives across various facilities.
- Consult with suppliers to determine appropriate equipment specifications and ensure compliance with welding standards.
Qualifications
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in Engineering (Associate’s degree with extensive experience may be considered).
- Experience: Proven background working directly with manufacturing processes, heavy equipment, and CAD.
- Technical Skills: Strong understanding of Lean principles and a data-driven approach to root cause analysis.
- Soft Skills: Excellent problem-solving, critical thinking, and the ability to manage time effectively in a fast-paced environment.
- Travel: Requires up to 50% travel to various manufacturing facilities across the U.S.
