Position Overview
The Safety Attendant provides continuous observation and support for patients requiring close monitoring to ensure their safety, comfort, and dignity. This role is essential in maintaining a safe environment and supporting the clinical team in delivering high-quality, patient-centered care.
Position Details
- Employment Type: PRN (as needed)
- Schedule: Hours vary based on patient care needs
- Department: Patient Care Support
- Travel: None required
- Supervisory Responsibilities: None
- Compensation: Commensurate with experience
Key Responsibilities
- Provide constant, close observation of assigned patients to ensure safety
- Identify and promptly report potential risks or changes in patient condition
- Assist with patient mobility, transport, and basic care needs as appropriate
- Communicate effectively with nursing staff and interdisciplinary care teams
- Maintain a clean, safe, and respectful patient environment
- Accurately document observations and report concerns in a timely manner
Minimum Qualifications
- Education: High School Diploma or equivalent
- Certification: Basic Life Support (BLS) certification – required
- Experience: Previous hospital or patient care experience preferred

Employment Requirements
- Compliance with all hospital policies, including vaccination requirements (approved exemptions considered)
- Successful completion of a criminal background check and pre-employment drug screening (post-offer)
