A Day in The Life of a Cdl Truck Driver

As a Cdl Truck Driver you will be responsible for transporting cargo to and from specified destinations. You will prepare, receive, and provide appropriate documentation for the delivery or pick-up of goods to ensure timely service. Must have a satisfactory driving record. Must have Cdl Classification/Certification. Requires applicable truck driver license for state.

• Drive a truck with capacity up to three tons and usually six wheels to transport materials
• Load, secure, verify, and unload cargo
• Prepare delivery schedule
• Deliver materials to locations designated by the customer
• Obtain customer's signature for proof of delivery and help to unload truck
• Perform the duties of Warehouse Associate when not driving the truck and making deliveries

Education & Experience

• High school degree or equivalent required
• Must have a valid Cdl License
• 2 years required of truck driving experience
• Forklift Experience

Skills & Requirements

• Ability to lift up to 50 pounds
• Ability to be on your feet for extended periods
• Vision - near, far, night
• Ability to detect or tell differences between sounds varying in pitch and loudness
• Ability to quickly respond (with hand, finger, foot) to signals (sound, light, picture) when it appears

Compensation Details $26.02 - $32.53 Per Hour

This amount is what we reasonably believe we will pay for the position; however, offer amounts may vary based on factors such as geographic location, relevant education, experience, qualifications, skills, shift, or any collective bargaining agreements. For eligible positions, compensation may include participation in a bonus or sales incentive plan, subject to the terms and conditions of the applicable plan documents. For certain sales roles, Wesco also offers a commission structure that provides additional compensation based on sales results, as defined by the applicable commission plan.
