Locomotive Truck Rebuild Specialist
Bring rail power back to life—one locomotive truck at a time
At Siemens Mobility in Lexington, NC, you’ll join a tight-knit crew focused on rebuilding locomotive trucks for our TSSSA customers. Your work keeps trains running safely and reliably across the country.
A day in this role
At 7:00 a.m., your first-shift team huddles with the CS Production Manager to align on the day’s production plan. You roll a truck into your bay, pressure-wash key components for inspection, and dive into disassembly. Technical drawings guide your teardown and rebuild steps, while careful tool control, torque application, and measurements ensure quality. When wheelsets need attention, you re-profile them on a state-of-the-art wheel lathe. Using overhead cranes and approved lifting devices, you position assemblies safely. You’ll coordinate with the warehouse to pull spares, document each action accurately, and wrap the day by 3:30 p.m. with good workshop housekeeping.
What you’ll work on
- Complete overhaul maintenance of Siemens locomotive trucks against the production plan
- Remove, inspect, and fit components per Siemens work instructions

- Proven accuracy in documenting work performed
- Hands-on knowledge of tool control, torque wrenches, measuring equipment, and appropriate PPE
- Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and publications
