**Description:**
Position is located at Good Samaritan Hospital in Greensboro, Georgia
+ Assumes responsibility, authority and accountability, for coordinating all administrative functions within the facility, during assigned shift. Assures the provision of safe, efficient, nursing care to patients of all cultural backgrounds and age groups. Provides leadership, communication and problem-solving skills and is a clinical resource for staff. Consults with administrator, on call, as appropriate.Insures compliance with federal/state regulations, JCAHO standards, OSHA guidelines, hospital policies/procedures, risk management and patient/staff safety issues. Communicates to administration, pertinent issues related, to the aforementioned items or patient care.Effectively utilizes resources of the hospital, in providing quality and cost effective patient care. Assists the department director/charge nurse in evaluating and revising staffing patterns, within established guidelines, to maximize productivity. Facilitates and develops productive relationships with staff, physicians, patients/families and community agencies.
+ Posting Posting **Licensure/Certification/Registration** : Graduate of an accredited Nursing Program with current Georgia license in good standing to practice as a registered nurse. **B. Education:** RN, required, BS/BSN preferred, but not required in lieu of experience. Maintains current BCLS, current ACLS, professional certifications (as applicable), PALS preferred, membership in professional organizations is recommended. **C: Experience:** Minimum of 3 years nursing/healthcare management, prefer prior experience as supervisor or director. In addition, minimum 3-5 years clinical experience, with ICU/ER/OR experience a plus. **Special Qualifications:** Act as a role model to staff and, as a professional representative of St. Mary's, to the community, while on duty.Computer proficiency required, excellent written and oral skills, ability to coach, educate and create a team spirit. Excellent negotiation skills.Must have an extensive clinical background, proficiency in the interpretation and understanding of federal/state regulations, JCAHO standards for accreditation, hospital policies, nurse practice act, staffing, patient rights, providing age appropriate care and employment practices. **Demonstration:** Must exhibit a high degree of initiative and decision making qualities, in coordinating services provided. Must exercise sound judgement and intelligence, in making decisions, carrying out duties, and in dealing with a multitude of personalities/cultures/age groups.Must demonstrate accuracy in clinical, administrative, and situational decision making.Must demonstrate ability to develop and maintain effective working relationships with all departments and staff, in providing effective patient care. Develops collaborative working relationships with physicians, unit directors, charge nurses, and other community healthcare providers.Must demonstrate ability to work with management, staff, and other professions from all areas of healthcare. Coordinates, manages, supervises, and maintains compliance with regulatory guidelines, in the provision of patient care provided by the hospital. Assures the patient care areas have adequate supplies and equipment and staffing meets hospital guidelines. Oversees emergent situations within the hospital. Facilitates identification of customer complaints and resolution. Identifies process problems in the delivery of care. Provides clinical education to staff, as opportunities present themselves. Serves as a clinical expert/resource to staff.
