PCU RN Job Details – Fayetteville, NC

• Location: Fayetteville, North Carolina (28304) – North Carolina healthcare jobs
• Facility Type: Short-term acute care, Level III Trauma Center, Teaching Hospital
• Assignment Length: 13 weeks (option to extend for additional contracts)
• Start Date: September 22, 2025
• End Date: December 22, 2025
• Shift: Nights, 3x12-hour shifts (19:00 - 07:00)
• Hours per Week: 36
• Patient Ratios: 1:4-5
• Weekend Requirement: Every other weekend
• Charting System: Epic
• Scrub Color: Royal blue and white
• Floating: May float to similar units within scope
• Guaranteed Hours: After 2 call-off shifts per 13-week assignment, all contracted shifts are guaranteed

Registered Nurse Qualifications

• Minimum 2 years of recent Progressive Care Unit (PCU) nursing experience
• Active Registered Nurse (RN) license in North Carolina or compact state
• BLS, ACLS, and NIHSS certifications required
• Must pass EKG exam
• Experience with Epic charting system
• First-time travel nurses accepted
• Ability to work every other weekend
• Ability to float to similar units as needed
• Must reside 50+ miles from facility (local candidates not accepted)
• Return staff must have a 1-year gap before returning as a traveler
• Maximum of 2 contracts (one extension allowed)

PCU RN Responsibilities

• Provide high-quality nursing care to PCU patients in a busy acute care setting
• Monitor, assess, and document patient conditions; administer medications and interventions
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary healthcare teams to develop and implement patient care plans
• Accurately document all patient care activities in Epic
• Educate patients and families on care plans and recovery
• Float to similar units as required to support hospital needs
• Maintain compliance with hospital policies, procedures, and healthcare regulations
