• Job Title: Travel Registered Nurse – Telemetry (PCU)
• Employment Type: Travel / Locum Tenens
• Location: Asheville, NC 28801 (Western North Carolina nursing jobs)
• Unit: D2 – Inpatient overflow unit (medical surgical and step-down patients)
• Number of Beds: 20
• Shift: 12 Hour Nights (6:45PM – 7:15AM)
• Hours per Week: 36
• Contract Duration: 13 weeks (Start: 10/13/2025 – End: 1/12/2026)
• Weekend Requirement: Every other weekend
• Scrub Color: Navy and/or white top, navy bottom, all white
• EMR System: Cerner
• Estimated Weekly Salary Range: $1800-$1840

Registered Nurse Qualifications

• Active RN license in North Carolina or compact state (North Carolina nursing jobs)
• Minimum 1 year of recent progressive care and telemetry nursing experience
• BLS and ACLS certifications required
• Demonstrated telemetry competency
• Patient-focused, compassionate, and a strong healthcare team player
• Ability to float to other hospital units as needed

RN Responsibilities

• Deliver high-quality nursing care to medical surgical and step-down patients in a busy inpatient overflow unit
• Monitor and interpret telemetry data; ensure all patients are hardwired to bedside monitors
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary healthcare teams including RNs, CNAs, and charge nurses
• Manage patient ratios of 1:5/1:6 based on acuity and level of care
• Support rapid patient turnover and short stay (24-hour LOS) admissions
• Maintain accurate clinical documentation using Cerner EMR
• Demonstrate flexibility by floating to other units as required
