Regional Administrative Specialist
: Description of Work
This position is to be an Administrative Assistant to the Regional Supervisor and support DIS staff housed within that Regional Office. The primary duty will be daily office telephone coverage and disseminating messages in a prompt and sensitive manner. This employee is an administrative liaison between, local providers, other regional offices and the county health departments. In so, communicating with these individuals to ensure proper documentation of testing information and performing data entry and/or updates within NCEDSS. S/he is responsible for ensuring daily office security and adhering to the Branch confidentiality policies. S/he is responsible for typing correspondence, preparing BDA's, data entry of client medical information, maintaining office supplies, mail duty and other general office duties. About the Division of Public Health and the Communicable Disease Branch : The NC Division of Public Health (DPH) works to promote and contribute to the highest possible level of health for the people of North Carolina - Everywhere, Everyday, Everybody. The Communicable Disease Branch of the Division of Public Health primarily deals with infectious diseases that are reportable by law to the state health department, as well as a few other communicable diseases of public health significance, such as influenza, norovirus infection and certain healthcare-associated infections.

- Data processing and word processing skills, preferable familiarity with Windows, Internet, Excel and Microsoft Word software.

- Ability to learn new procedures, medical terminology,
- Ability to handle a variety of demands at once.
- Ability to work independently.
