Dialysis RN Job Details

• Job Title: Dialysis Registered Nurse (RN) – Locum Tenens
• Location: Greensboro, North Carolina 27401
• Employment Type: Locum tenens (Travel nursing contract)
• Healthcare Setting: Hospital-based Hemodialysis Department
• Start Date: October 7, 2025
• End Date: January 6, 2026
• Assignment Duration: 13 weeks
• Shifts: 3x12-hour day shifts/week (6:30 AM – 7:00 PM), rotating weekends
• Total Hours: 36 hours per week
• Estimated Weekly Salary Range: $1,730 - $1,770
• Floating: Required between three Cone Health campuses
• Call: Sunday nights only (rotating schedule)

Dialysis RN Qualifications

• Minimum 2 years of recent dialysis RN experience in a hospital or acute care setting
• Active Registered Nurse (RN) license in North Carolina or compact state
• Current ACLS and BLS certifications (American Heart Association preferred)
• Proficiency with EPIC charting system
• Skilled in cannulation of AV fistula and AV graft
• Experience with acute inpatient dialysis, peritoneal dialysis, and apheresis treatments
• Must pass EKG exam during compliance process (up to 2 attempts)
• Ability and willingness to float between multiple campuses
• Strong attendance and punctuality record (zero-tolerance policy for tardiness/unexcused absences)
• Successful background check and education verification required
• Travel nursing candidates only (must reside outside 50-mile radius of Greensboro, NC)

Dialysis RN Responsibilities

• Deliver hemodialysis, peritoneal dialysis, and apheresis treatments to adult and geriatric patients with end stage renal disease, acute kidney injury, and metabolic imbalances
• Monitor patients on telemetry and provide cardiac surveillance during dialysis procedures
• Float between three Cone Health campuses as needed to provide clinical support
• Perform dialysis treatments in department bays and patient rooms, including ICU settings
• Operate Tablo Dialysis Devices, Baxter Amia PD Devices, and Spectra Optia Apheresis Devices
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary healthcare teams (IV, respiratory, physical therapy, pharmacy, social services)
• Maintain accurate and timely documentation using EPIC electronic health records
• Participate in Sunday night call rotation as scheduled
• Provide compassionate, high-quality nursing care in accordance with best practices for dialysis and renal nursing jobs
