Overview
The Facilities Engineering Technician is responsible for supporting AUTEC’s facilities through hands-on maintenance, construction projects, and building development initiatives. This role ensures that our manufacturing plant, office space, and site infrastructure remain safe, efficient, and scalable to meet the needs of a growing business.
What You’ll DoConstruction & Building Development
Assist in planning and executing facility construction and renovation projects.
Perform hands-on work such as carpentry, light masonry, drywall, painting, and general building repairs.
Coordinate with contractors, vendors, and engineering staff to complete projects on time and within budget.
Support layout changes and expansion efforts in office, production, and warehouse areas.
Maintenance & Reliability
Conduct routine inspections and preventative maintenance on building systems (HVAC, electrical, plumbing, mechanical).
Troubleshoot and repair facility-related issues to minimize disruption to operations.
Monitor and maintain building structures, grounds, and exterior areas.
Safety & Compliance
Ensure facility projects and repairs meet OSHA, building codes, and environmental regulations.
Maintain documentation of inspections, repairs, permits, and compliance records.
Support safety initiatives, including emergency preparedness and facility-related training.
Operational Support
Partner with production, engineering, and service teams to ensure facilities meet operational requirements.
Assist with energy efficiency and sustainability initiatives to reduce costs and environmental impact.
Maintain tools, equipment, and supplies inventory for facility projects.
Associate degree, trade certification, or equivalent experience in construction, building systems, or facilities engineering.
3+ years of experience in facilities maintenance, construction, or building development (industrial/manufacturing environment preferred).
Hands-on skills in carpentry, building repairs, and general maintenance.
Knowledge of building systems (HVAC, plumbing, electrical, structural).
Familiarity with OSHA standards, building codes, and safety practices.
Ability to read and interpret technical drawings, blueprints, and construction documents.
Strong problem-solving skills and ability to work independently or with contractors/teams.
