Primary Purpose of the Organizational Unit Career & Professional Development is the central hub for career readiness and professional development of students at UNCG. Through our services, programs, and campus partnerships, our career team assists in developing individualized career plans to maximize successful candidates. Position Summary This is a highly visible position with primary responsibility for developing and managing external employer relationships and expanding the range of employer recruiting activities through new partnerships and new initiatives. Provides direct supervision and manages employer relations team. Partners with the Director of Career & Professional Development on all office initiatives, programming and strategic planning. Minimum Qualifications - Master's degree in marketing, sales, business, human relations, higher education, or related field, along with a minimum of 2 years professional experience in a career services, HR recruiting, marketing/sales, or employer relations setting. (Possible substitution of bachelor's degree with substantial advanced experience in employer relations or HR recruiting and college relations.)
- Must be proficient with career management technology and interested in identifying and adopting technological advances in the field.
- Working knowledge across multiple sectors including private, public, and non-profit.
- Demonstrated experience planning and implementing both small- and large-scale recruiting events.
- Ability to work with a broad range of internal and external constituents including students, alumni, employers, faculty, and staff.
- Evidence of an understanding and commitment to diversity, equity, and inclusion.
- Well-developed interpersonal communication and marketing skills and ability to negotiate and build coalitions.
- Open, friendly, personable attitude.
- Prior supervision experience.
- Experience with database management, program planning, and project management.
Additional Required Certifications, Licensures, and Certificates Preferred Qualifications - 3+ years of experience in employer relations, workforce development, or external partnerships connected to career opportunities for college students.
- Must be able to apply excellent judgment to make decisions, organize work tasks, work independently, and establish priorities.
- Exceptional organizational, time management, and project management skills.
