Senior Civil Engineer

Our client is actively seeking a Senior Civil Engineer to join their team in Wilkesboro, NC . This role is ideal for a seasoned professional with a strong background in civil and environmental engineering, particularly in diverse markets such as community parks, retail, commercial development, education, federal government, and transportation.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead and manage project design efforts, ensuring high standards in technical quality, team coordination, cost control, and scheduling.

• Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams, including engineering and architectural professionals, on complex projects.

• Oversee and/or develop design documents, technical specifications, and cost estimates.

• Conduct detailed engineering design and perform QA/QC reviews.

• Prepare technical studies, engineering reports, and documentation.

• Perform site investigations and support construction administration activities.

• Manage client expectations and deliverables effectively.

• Coordinate permitting processes with federal, state, and local agencies.

• Maintain professional communication with clients, sub-consultants, and internal teams.

• 8–15 years of experience in engineering consulting.

• Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering.

• Professional Engineer (PE) license required.

• Proficiency in MS Office, AutoCAD, AutoCAD Civil 3D, and hydrology software such as Hydraflow or equivalent.

• Demonstrated experience in:

  • Residential and commercial site development

  • Site layout, grading, and drainage

  • Hydraulics, hydrology, and stormwater/water quality management

  • Water and sewer systems

  • Permitting processes
