Heavy Duty Forklift Operator Job Description:

PrideStaff is currently recruiting for a local fabrication company who is looking for a Heavy Duty Forklift Operator. The Heavy Duty Forklift Operator will be the backbone of our outdoor yard, ensuring beams, columns, and pipes get organized in a timely manner. The ideal Heavy Duty Forklift Operator position has previous experience operating a Heavy Duty Forklift moving large, heavy items with a high degree of accuracy and attention to detail. The Heavy Duty Forklift Operator position is a full-time, temp to hire position in Matthews, NC.

Heavy Duty Forklift Operator Job Responsibilities:

• Review & Understand Work Orders & Loading Paperwork For Accuracy

• Work Seamlessly With Our Team to Keep The Production Line Fed & The Workflow Moving

• Perform Morning Safety Checks on Equipment & Trailers

• Calculate The Weight of Steel Loads to Ensure Proper Handling & Load Balancing

• Conduct Daily Inspection of Trucks, Including Oil & Air Compressor Checks

• Secure Materials on Trailers Using Proper Banding, Strapping, & Other DOT-Compliant Procedures

• Follow All PPE & Safety Guidelines

Heavy Duty Forklift Operator Job Requirements & Working Conditions:

• High School Diploma or Equivalent Required

• Previous Experience Handling High-Tonnage Loads

• Must be Able to Work Outdoors, Regardless of The Season

• Must Have a Safety Mindset & Understand With Heavy Steel; There is no Room For Errors

• A Knack For Inventory Tracking & Spotting Discrepancies Before They Become Problems

• Proficient in Using & Reading a Tape Measure

• Must Complete Formal Apprenticeship Program, With Relevant Experience
