Job Title: Registered Nurse Profession: RN Specialty: Progressive Care Unit Duration: 13 weeks Shift: Night Hours per Shift: 10.5 Experience: Minimum 2 years License: Active RN License Certifications: ACLS, BLS Must-Have: Stepdown experience, Telemetry experience Description: This position involves caring for patients in a cardiovascular progressive care unit. The primary patient population includes those recovering from cardiovascular and vascular surgeries. Patients may have undergone procedures such as open heart surgery, thoracic surgery, or vascular interventions. The unit also accommodates overflow medical patients with various cardiac conditions. Registered nurses will manage patient care with a typical patient ratio of 1:5. The team consists of approximately 100 staff members working on the unit. Candidates should be flexible and able to thrive in a fast-paced environment. Strong teamwork skills are essential for success in this role. Previous experience with cardiovascular surgery and vascular surgery populations is preferred. Registered nurses will also handle tasks involving IV medication management, tube feedings, and chest tube management. No on-call duties are required, with a minimum weekend shift expectation.
