Human Resources Generalist

Our client, a manufacturing company with 400 employees, needs a Human Resources Generalist to support all aspects of the employee lifecycle. This family-owned business has operated for over 50 years and maintains a strong culture focused on safety, quality, and employee development. The HR department consists of three professionals who work collaboratively to support management and employees across multiple shifts.

The HR Generalist will handle recruitment, onboarding, benefits administration, employee relations, and compliance activities. This role requires someone who can balance multiple priorities, maintain confidentiality, and build trusting relationships with employees at all levels. The position offers broad HR experience and opportunities to lead initiatives that impact the organization.

Responsibilities

  • Manage full-cycle recruitment for hourly and salaried positions including job postings and interviewing
  • Conduct new hire orientation and ensure smooth onboarding experience
  • Administer benefits programs including health insurance, 401(k), and leave management
  • Serve as point of contact for employee questions on policies, benefits, and procedures
  • Investigate employee relations issues and recommend solutions to management
  • Maintain HRIS system and ensure accurate employee data and documentation
  • Coordinate training programs and track completion of required certifications
  • Support performance management process and annual review cycle
  • Ensure compliance with federal and state employment laws and company policies

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or related field
  • 3-5 years of HR generalist experience preferably in manufacturing or industrial setting
  • PHR or SHRM-CP certification preferred but not required
  • Strong knowledge of employment laws including FMLA, ADA, and FLSA
  • Experience with HRIS systems and applicant tracking software
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
  • Strong organizational abilities and attention to detail
  • Ability to handle sensitive information with discretion and professionalism
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite especially Excel
