Travel Nurse Job Details

• Location: Wilmington, NC 28401 (North Carolina nursing jobs)
• Estimated Weekly Pay: $1700 - $1750 per week
• Assignment Length: 13 weeks (option to extend up to 26 weeks)
• Start Date: August 25, 2025
• End Date: November 24, 2025
• Shift: 12-hour night shifts (18:45 – 07:15)
• Hours per Week: 36 or 48 (overtime after 48 hours)
• Patient Ratio: 1:6
• Float Requirement: Yes, travelers float first
• Weekend Requirement: Every other weekend
• Unit Orientation: 24 hours
• Scrubs: Navy Blue

Registered Nurse Qualifications

• Active North Carolina or Compact RN license (must be valid by start date)
• Minimum 2 years of recent Med/Surg RN experience (medical-surgical nursing)
• Current ACLS and BLS certifications required
• Must pass EKG testing prior to start
• Strong teamwork and commitment to patient safety
• Willingness to float to other hospital units as needed
• Experience with Epic charting system preferred
• NIH Stroke Scale (NIHSS) certification and neuro nursing experience preferred
• Charge nurse experience or willingness to learn preferred
• Ability to work 2 out of 3 major holidays if assignment overlaps holiday periods
• Flu vaccine required (medical/religious exemptions accepted)

Med/Surg RN Responsibilities

• Deliver high-quality nursing care to adult and geriatric patients with neuro and general medicine diagnoses
• Manage a patient load of up to 6 patients per shift
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary healthcare teams (IV, PT, RT, pharmacy, and more)
• Administer medications and treatments using Pyxis; document care in Epic
• Interpret and manage dysrhythmias, initiate IVs, and provide telemetry monitoring
• Implement isolation precautions and non-invasive airway management as needed
• Participate in unit-based safety and quality initiatives
• Float to other units within the hospital or affiliate hospitals as required
• Be available for Storm Team/Hurricane Team assignments during catastrophic events
