Position Summary
Type: Part-time, hourly contract (1099) position with a potential for full-time W-2 work in the future. Up to 20 hours per week (can be a mix of daytime and evening/weekend hours).
Location: This is a 100% virtual role, but there may be times where we meet on-site at a client's location for a meeting or event, so living in the Charlotte, NC area (or the Carolinas) is preferred.
The Marketing Manager will be responsible for developing, implementing, and managing marketing strategies and campaigns that promote our clients’ brands, programs and initiatives. This role requires a creative and analytical individual with a proven track record in marketing and a passion for driving business or organizational success.
Key Responsibilities
Develop and execute comprehensive marketing strategies, plans and campaigns across various channels, including digital, print, TV, radio social media, out of home (billboard, transit) and some events.
Build and manage project timelines and keep the client and any partners up to speed on where we are at each milestone.
Source relevant market research to demographic information, identify trends, customer needs, and competitive landscapes.
Manage teammates or contractors as they create content for social media, digital marketing, flyers, brochures, billboards, and other marketing materials (copy/language & designs). In some cases, this position would/could create the designs or write the copy themselves.
Monitor and analyze marketing performance, providing regular metrics reports and insights to clients.
Collaborate with internal team members and external partners to ensure marketing initiatives align with the plans and goals.
Manage the marketing budget and allocate resources effectively for any given project
Manage media or other vendor contracts and invoicing with clients.
Stay up-to-date with industry best practices and emerging marketing technologies.
Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in Marketing, Advertising, Communications, or a related field.
3-5 years (minimum) of experience in a marketing management, communications, or graphic design role.
Experience planning and executing marketing campaigns and paid media buys (advertising).
Excellent written and verbal communication skills. Ability to express a thorough, clear written rationale to a client or partner for why we do (or don’t) recommend a particular strategy or initiative. Ability to verbally present a new marketing strategy or share campaign progress & results in a client meeting.
Strategic thinker with strong analytical and problem-solving abilities. This position will not be micromanaged; he/she will need to be able to think on their own to solve some challenges.
Experience in using digital timeline tools for internal and external project management (i.e. Asana).
Proven ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously and meet deadlines.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and Google/Gmail tools (Google Drive, Google Meet, etc.).
Preferred Qualifications
Experience in an agency setting or working for a company/nonprofit/government entity in brand management, communications or marketing.
Proficiency in Canva.
Basic knowledge of Adobe Creative Suite (InDesign, Photoshop, Illustrator) is not required but a plus.
Basic knowledge of/experience in how to create video or moving slideshow using various tools (e.g. iMovie, Premiere, Canva, Final Cut, etc.) is not required but a plus.
Understanding of digital marketing tools and platforms (e.g., Google Analytics, Meta –FB & Instagram– Ads, HubSpot, Sprout Social, Constant Contact, Mailchimp) is a plus.
Knowledge of and/or interest in leveraging AI tools to make tasks more efficient is a plus.
